The FN FN15 Guardian is a new semi-automatic rifle in 5.56 NATO with a 16-inch barrel, a black anodized finish and an adjustable stock, the standard carbine layout for a general-purpose rifle.

For Texas use this is the rifle you set up once and keep by the door of the ranch house or in the truck for a range day. As a centerfire 5.56 it is not caught by the state bar on rimfire ammunition for deer; whether it fits your county's deer rules is a question for the Outdoor Annual, which sets bag limits and antler restrictions at the county line. The general season opens November 7, 2026 across the state, closing January 3, 2027 in the North Zone, which includes Bexar County, and January 17 in the South Zone below U.S. Highway 90. The adjustable stock fits shooters of different sizes, and the anodized finish holds up to handling and weather.
