Savage's Mark II is a modern-production bolt-action .22 LR with a 21-inch round barrel, a side safety and a detachable magazine. This one wears a BSA 8-32 power scope and blued metal, set in a laminated thumbhole stock in green, black and brown. The bore is excellent and the overall condition is very good. Serial number 1979173.

Texas bars rimfire ammunition of any caliber for white-tailed deer, so this is not a rifle for the November opener. It is a rifle for everything else a .22 does well: paper and steel at the range, practice before deer season, and teaching a new shooter the bolt gun basics with little recoil. The high-magnification scope and thumbhole stock suit careful shooting from a rest rather than fast handling. For a Texas buyer it fills the role of the rifle you shoot the most while the big-game season is closed.
